HARPER PRE-PM

The 2004 Supreme Court decision quashing Harper’s attempt to have regulations on election spending and political donations declared unconstitutional: Harper v. Canada

That didn’t stop Harper from trying to circumvent funding regulations: Montreal Gazette, “Liberals charge that Carson used think-tank resources to promote Tories

Harper was president of the conservative think-tank National Citizens Coalition between 1998 and 2002. For a summary of their activities, see their Wikipedia entry. And check out their current agenda on their website.

In 2005, Harper brought the “real Americans” rhetoric of the Republicans north; and shared his thoughts on same-sex marriage. Watch here.
